Faith Without Reservation

God requires us to trust Him in all things. He doesn’t want part of our lives, while we reserve certain parts for us to handle on our own. Yet this is exactly what we do. We trust that God will bless us with a job, but we don’t have that same faith towards healing. We get a bad report from the doctor and we believe that the doctor’s report is too much for God to handle. But the Word declares “is there anything too hard for God?” (AMP) We serve the Almighty God, the Great I Am. There is nothing that you will face that He cannot handle. There is nothing and no one greater than Him. Nothing can compare to Him. This is the Most High God! How dare we think that a headache, high blood pressure or even cancer is any match for God? He is not like you and I. We are limited in strength, resources, and power, but God is unlimited in these same things. We cannot exhaust God! Even if we could, He would just turn back around and make more.

We have that same creative power in us. Just as God spoke in the beginning and created all things in the earth, He created us in His image and in His likeness. We are a reflection of Him. Just as our children have our DNA in them and look, talk, walk, and act like us, so are we with our Heavenly Father. Because He breathed His spirit in us, we too should look, talk, walk, and act like God. In Genesis, God gave Adam dominion and authority over the earth. Then Jesus came and gave that same power to us that Adam lost as a result of the fall. If God would go through so much trouble to redeem the gift from the enemy, should we not trust that He is for us? Shouldn’t we believe that He will keep His promises to us?

We have allowed the devil to infiltrate our thoughts with seeds of doubt, fear, and unbelief. We fail to realize that his job is to keep us from fulfilling our destiny in Christ Jesus. Why? Because in doing so we take territory back from him. When we get to the place where we believe God in all things, we become a threat to the kingdom of darkness. How many times has God really blessed you and you kept it to yourself and didn’t tell a soul. I would venture to say none. When God blesses us, we want to tell everyone we come in contact with about His goodness. In doing so, we generally inspire others to trust God more, thereby increasing their faith. Why? Because faith comes by hearing. The devil does not want you to have a testimony. He wants you to be defeated all the days of your life. But thank God for Jesus. He came that we “might have life, and have it more abundantly.” (AMP)The amplified version of the bible states “to have and enjoy life, in abundance, to the full, until it overflows.” (AMP) Jesus wants us to live the good life. I don’t know about you but I prefer the life Jesus died that I might have.

So often we are the ones who place limits on what God can do in our lives. We look at where we are in life, what our resources are, our education level, or our status in society and decide based on these things how much God can bless us. However, the Word declares that “He is able to do exceeding, abundantly, above all we can even ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.” (AMP) What is this power the Word is referring to? It is the power of faith! If our faith is at the level that we can believe God can bless us with a new car but that we have to make a down payment and make monthly payments, then that’s what we will get. However, God is able to go above and beyond that. He may lay it on the heart of someone to buy you a car and give it to you as a gift. I have seen it happen. God can do it, but you have to believe it.
